DESCRIPTION
QUALIFIED CANDIDATES MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE WITH PRODUCT PACKAGING Responsible for design, validation and implementation of cold chain packaging and logistics. Work with internal and external customers (Quality, Engineering, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Technical Services, Marketing and Purchasing) to develop robust and cost effective packaging, which will satisfy all customer requirements. Identify and lead the implementation of innovative packaging technologies to increase manufacturing yield and reduce cost.

1. Prepare and execute testing protocols and reports.

2. Responsible for leading investigations for temperature excursions.

3. Design and implementation of cold chain packaging components.

4. Lead investigator for customer complaints related to transportation.

5. Project manager for mid to large size projects.

6. Technology transfer from design to manufacturing.

7. Develop specifications, batch records, bill of materials, qualifying and validating shipping process, and resolving technical issues with component suppliers.

REQUIREMENTS:
Understanding of logistics and distribution center operations. Knowledge of cold chain packaging validation. Understanding of JDE and BOM structure.Experience within a cGMP manufacturing operation is preferred. Strong communication skills. Knowledge of design control is a plus. PC proficiency with Word, Excel and Project. Working knowledge if and ability to apply ASTM, ISTA and ISO standards and procedures. Manage projects and deadlines to ensure all new product and package improvement deadlines are met. Troubleshoot packaging operations and maintain relevant metrics for all packaging projects. Establish best practices and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.

BS in packaging, material science, Mechanical Engineering preferred with at least 6 years of relevant packaging experience, MS with at least 4 years or PHD with 2-3 years in cold chain and logistics.
